oakfarmWhen I learned the US has a presidential candidate named Kamala Harris, I thought that I easily learned that name, but have trouble learning that the names of our politicians with foreign names. I specifically thought about Nyamko Sabuni and Ardalan Shekarabi. Sabuni is a party leader and Shekarabi is a minister and is mentioned as the next party leader for the Social democrats. And I’m afraid one of those two will become our prime minister, before I learn to pronounce the name. That shouldn’t look good. But, yeah, Kamala is easier, are there other people with that name?
Sabuni is born in Burundi, but I have learned she’s ethical Congolese. The second Congo war is the worst war since 1945. One could probably argue that we should have much more Congolese women and children here, than we have. If the point of asulium is to help the one fleeing from wars then, as said, it’s the worst war since 45. On the other hand, Congo is part of French speaking Africa, the refugees making it to the west, might prefer France. Or, I don’t know, maybe some make it to French speaking Canada? Or now a days, there are Congolese people in China. Perhaps some rather goes to Guangzhou than to Stockholm.
