I could write a causerie about livejournal and Russia. The thing is, I could write whatever Putin-hating entry I want and post on livejournal. Because in case anyone from the Russian state read it, they would be pleased. The reason Russia has such an extremely aggressive foreign politics, isn’t because they want to be loved. If I would love Putin, the people around him wouldn’t be doing their job. They would be like “Why isn’t that guy afraid of us? We have our newest nuclear armed missiles as close to Scandinavia as possible. We use social media to saw as much chaos as possible. We bomb Syria. We have invaded two countries. What more could we do?”
