Stockholm-syndrom
To write about many subjects, including mental health. You know that one non-peer review Imperial college paper that often said is the reason countries like UK and US chosen Chinese style lockdown policy. To my understanding the lead researcher behind that paper believes that soon the mortality will start go up a lot in Stockholm. (Because, of course since Sweden didn’t follow the recommendation of that paper.) This while our state epidemiologist humbly says, that next week there’s a chance the mortality in covid-19 will start go slightly down in Stockholm. (First sight of herd immunity.) Interesting.
Now i am not the victim, however if you allow me to focus on myself. In cbt there’s a method to handle angst by setting a side 20 min a day to focus on the worst case scenario on whatever you have angst about. That way you harden - or whatever word should be used - yourself. So for that reason, I spend 20 min / day thinking the British are right. That way, I don’t have to consume societies limited resources for mental health treatment, when this is all over. That’s one drawback of the lockdowns in the world, the economic crisis will lead to less money for the welfare sector. Moving the goalposts, in the debate about lockdowns, one can point out that society has more responsible than preventing the spread of infection. I want to write so much more about that. But, I’ll spare you, and I'm not the right person to do that, I just link to what Silvia Camporesi, Italian professor in bioethics, wrote about trade offs for lockdowns.
