The reason I found an article by an Indian ex diplomat was that I wanted to find out if the Bofors artillery we might give to Ukraine is the same Bofors artillery India uses against Pakistanians they don’t like.

To my understanding, the 40 mm Bofors AA gun was the gun the US navy got as many as they could have, and put on every empty space on their warships. History is a kind of escapism.
