I post this since I am a history buff. It might not be interesting to everyone.
In 2014 I was in Austria a few days. One thing I remember is a shopping window to a bookstore that was full of books about the first world war, it was exactly 100 years since that war had started.
Here's a photo from a German bookstore. Next year it is 400 years since the start of the 30 year war (1618-1648).

I think the marxistian historian Eric Hobsbawm said that the only really bad century were the 17-century and the 20-century. I took that as a promise that the 21-century would likely not be as bad.
