Wax on wax off
It took some time since it’s kind of cringy but now I have seen the first season of Cobra Kai. 1980s nostalgia - nostalgia to the decade when the US was nothing but a kick ass montag with everything from teen series pilotes to boxers - is basically a religion. Right?
Unrelated everyday thing. The other day I was at the dentist. I had a filling that needed to be fixed. It seems to me that most of my visits to the dentist are to fix fillings. One day they will start using stem cells in filling and those will work forever. Or maybe stem cells will never work like that. The funny thing. In the waiting room there was a bottle of hand sanitizers, surgical masks and a sign that basically asked us to wear one of those and not take it off during the whole visit “unless otherwise stated”. Well, during a visit to the dentist, the posible you’re asked to remove a mask is close to 100%. (Of course we can assume the sign is the same in all waiting rooms in the hospital and it’s just at the dentist the instructions are a little funny. And if you wonder, it’s a recommendation, they don’t force anyone.)
Or more pop-culture nostalgia. Years ago when me and some classmates discussed Back to the future, I mentioned that I had read that Daniel LaRusso was offered the role of McFly but turned it down. So we came up with the thought that Mr Miyagi should have been the professor. Now it’s a big world, you can likely find someone online that has rewritten Back to the future with mr Miyagi as the professor. Also since I mentioned fighter pilots and 80s movies. On the subject of how things change. It’s possible Americans don’t glorify the military like we used to think many did? The “liberal elite” thinks the military is a tool of imperialism and white supremacy, while the ill-liberal elit think it’s a tool of the deep state, the globalist, the cyclists ... ?
